As it is still Sunday 14th July wanted to share some reflections regarding England winning the World Cup today.
I listened to alot of interviews today after I watched with my family England win against New Zealand in the ICC World Cup of 2019.
It was such a nail biting finish, both teams fighting every inch to win. To see the players putting their heart and soul into every run, chase, bowl and bat was so inspiring.
I also heard how the England Captain attributed the win to careful planning and elaborate training that took 4 years.
From their disgust with their performance 4 years ago, how they came back with that dedication to be the best is so motivating.

The tenacity of the Captain and the excellent leadership skills of the Coach, you could tell.

I love the collaborative approach and the tribute Owen, the England Captain paid to everyone’s efforts, even those behind the scenes is so heart warning.
I am sure this contributed to England being the winning side.
One thing as a Coach myself that really struck me and which applies to all kinds of Coaching not just Sports Coaching was how the England Captain, Morgan likes leaders around him and encourages others to be leaders.
The team spirit that Owen fosters and encourages shone through because cricket is not just about individual talent.
Individuals make up as a team. Individual talent harnessed together to work with each other, plays a big part, That working as a team is what gives you the edge.

I also loved witnessing the embracing of different cultures within the team and the different ways of celebrating, some with the Champagne and some without and the mutual respect for one another.
To celebrate difference doesn’t happen often it is usually very cliched and full of political tokenism.
England Cricket team showed real comadrie and sportsmanship!
It brought tears to my eyes.
Team work
Talent
Tenacity
2019 is witness to alot that is broken and breaking right now and here I mean so many systems.
However it is the people that make the system.
The England Team today showed that wherever you are from, whatever your religion, whether you are an immigrant or not, this does not matter. In fact what matters is what you do and how you master your talents and gifts.

The England Team showed today that equality, liberty and fraternity will always prevail.
So whatever systems that try to disrupt these basic tenets that lead to a harmonious society can never really win.
They are systems
We must remember people make systems and that is what leads to success and thriving societies and communities.
Collaboration leads to thriving teams and communities.
