G in the M.A.G.I.C.A.L method

Gratitude so many people have written about it, my extra words on the subject could be like writing on the water, get lost in the sea of words or be imprinted onto your soul.

Only time will tell, only you the reader really knows that.

As a writer, I can only do my best to relay with words what I understand.

And I understand this.

Gratitude cannot be forced, or expected.

It comes from the heart

I feel grateful as a result of an exchange of energy when the giver has no expectations from me

Do you know what I mean?

Gratitude requires a PRESENCE

Whenever I have been present to myself, my surroundings, my partner, my children, my family, my friends, my body, the air around me and within me, the earth around me and within me and the fire around me and within me and the water around me and within me and the plants around me and within me and the animals around me and within me and present to this Unseen Intelligence that connects us all, then I feel this immense feeling of GRATITUDE, there is this swelling in the heart and this expansion of the lungs and this IMMENSE DESIRE to express the Thanks from the rooftops

This presence though mostly is transient and short lived

You would have read this before

The greatest gift is the PRESENT

And as a High Achiever who spent most of life wanting to achieve SO many things like yesterday I am grateful in these last few years that I am MORE present within myself and with others and with my surroundings

Because being grateful for what I do have has helped me stop looking at what I don’t have and so I have slowed down the pace that I was living my life

From this fast paced life, I had most of my life actually four decades. In fact, I now have this steady paced life that means I am not chasing this dream or that dream trying to achieve the impossible.

I finally am grateful for the dreams I have achieved

Yes that is what being grateful actually helps you attain which arises from abstention from digital devices

The abstention arises from the meditation

And the more grateful we are the more at peace we feel.

And the more at peace you feel the more balanced you feel

Yes Gratitude stands for G in the M.A.G.I.C.A.L method that I have developed that helps you gain peace and balance.

Having qualified as a Social Worker in July 1991 from Coventry University, it has been over two decades that I have been on the front line working with children and young people who are traumatized and on the margins of society. Although I studied Psycho-dynamic counselling for two years at Goldsmiths College (1991-1993), I decided to integrate Psycho-dynamic theories and skills into my Social work practice and flirt with and immerse myself in studying Islam as well as interfaith dialogue and friendships. For the last 20 years, I have been working in a multi-disciplinary Youth Offending Team in South London, comprised of Professional colleagues from different faiths and cultural backgrounds trying to support young people in the criminal justice system. I am married and mother to three sons, and juggle Social Work and interfaith dialogue with my writing, studying and the needs of home and family.
