Reflecting after the General Election in the UK. Hope you being a High Performing LEADER are reflecting with me!

Having a cup of peppermint tea and bought some macaroons to celebrate the Conservative party not being in government anymore in the UK.

Having meetings with myself, where I reflect over a cup of tea at a cafe is something I have been doing since I was 19 years old.

I was doing it in the late 1980s before it was fashionable. When I did this, I was looked at as some kind of freak. Well a woman alone in a café was not the trendy thing in the 1980s and I often had men trying to chat me up etc.

Thank God that doesn’t happen to me now and most of the time I am left alone to reflect.

Nowadays wherever you go in Europe it is common for a woman to be sitting alone at a cafe having lunch or coffee. And I am so glad it is because this activity is really useful for reflection for high performers and high achievers. The activity of having meetings by yourself is what I am highlighting. And I am highlighting it because in this world where we are bombarded with so much information, when do we get the time to process it?

This is a question for me as much as it is for you.

Information by the way is not the same as knowledge and knowledge is not the same as wisdom. Although many confuse the three as being the same. Especially in the age of the Internet when information is at the tip of our finger tips.

For me information needs to be processed and analysed to be understood.

Then it becomes knowledge and then that knowledge needs to be tested in the real world for it to become wisdom. Tested to see if it is true or not true. Tested to see if it’s understood or not understood.

And wisdom is not just information or knowledge of tested information and knowledge. In my experience, wisdom is obtained from interacting with individuals, groups and families and communities over a long period of time and interaction that is meaningful for all parties. This interaction cannot be one way and only formal but needs to be formal and informal.

For me just reading this article about the General Election results, I see two trends that have emerged in the politics of the UK.

Here’s the article I am referring to.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/general-election-result-seat-map-constituencies-b2574294.html

One of the trends is very positive. The fact that we now have 4 MPs who represent The Green Party.

The other trend is very worrying for me and you especially if you are a high performer and high achiever coming from a Muslim or Jewish family or you are from a black and minority ethnic background and it is extremely worrying for the landscape of British politics.

The fact that there are 5 Members of Parliament who belong to The Reform Party is extremely worrying for me. The fact that 5 MPs from this party are sitting in Parliament means that from now on racist and islamaphobic and anti- semitic tropes are going to be used to win the hearts and minds of voters. This election marks a watershed because it is now going to become more and more acceptable to use fears of the other and of the other not integrating in our political language.

Nigel Farage after 10 years of trying to become an MP is an MP and his win just shows how he is part of a worrying trend across Europe and crystallises for me the worrying wisdom that the world is shifting more to the Far Right and we live in this Neo Fascist era.

I wrote a few days before the election a desire for consensus politics but with Nigel Farage sitting in parliament there will be more adversarial politics.

I am really happy for 4 Green MPs being in parliament who have a record of working with The Labour party in their constituencies but being a social worker who has worked with children, young people and families on the front lines, I am concerned that there will be more divide and rule tactics, more instilling of fear of the other.

That is why I feel that it is time we LEAD others in being able to reflect on information they read on the internet, process it, analyse it not just accept it first hand. We are also living in an increasingly technological age filled with fake news. Information that is not tested. Knowledge that is not tested.

We need to hold our politicians to account. This Labour Government has promised change. It is up to us to make sure they deliver the change.

And we want politicians that are leaders not managers of information, knowledge or wisdom but are able to link with those who have tried and tested solutions to deliver the solutions.

It is time for politicians to listen to the communities of practice that already exist and work together to deliver the solutions to our communities.

I pray this occurs for the next five years.

I pray that those in power make us feel we are important. All of us, rich and poor, working or not working.

It became a Best Seller on Amazon in the UK, U.S and France in April 2025. The book tells the story of Tamara Alvi, a fictional charachter and is a psychological thriller and a story of healing. Taniya started her coaching and consulting business in January 2018 and she works mainly with High Achievers and High Performers and High Performing Leaders, offering reflective spaces since 2018 and what she refers to as THE REFLECTIVE SPACE. Taniya since starting her busines discovered that she is a powerful healer and was shocked that clients were relieved from pain even though they have been diagnosed with a chronic illness. Taniya is delighted to have discovered Paceology, which is the detailed study of PACE. She is the first paceologist. She noticed when working with high performers when you slow down in one area of your life, this causes you to speed up in another area and vice cersa thus leading to increased levels of productivity, creativity, clarity and energy. She brands herself as the Muslim Alchemist because she really is The Muslim Alchemist as she guides you to transfom the base, in other words the shit that you have experienced into GOLD whether that is love of yourself or God or another human being or a healthier body or a life where you feel at peace and calm and fulfilled or more energy or more money. You definintely will feel lighter, more freer and more clearer even if you book one consultation with her or several sessions. Taniya has a very holistic approach when working with individuals and works with you on multiple layers, the emotional, the psychological, the social, the physical, the mental and the spriritual. She uses stories from the Quran and the Bible when working with clients on a one to one basis or in group workshops as well as breathwork, body scanning, cognitive behavioural therapy, neuro linguistic programming, motivational interviewing. systems theory, neuro science. She is trained in multiple modalities as well as using her own Paceology and insists on offering her clients a trauma informed and trauma responsive service. She is constantly integrating her knowledge of the Quran and Bible with her vast social work experience and training. Taniya's extensive ability of applying psycho-dynamic theory to organisational settings, teams and groups as well as to individuals results in those who attend her sessions or workshops as feeling lighter and more energised. Taniya uses skillfully her understanding of the Shadow, that Jung constantly talked about and her Mystical Training. She also has integrated her passion for inter-faith dialogue and the archetypes that Jung often refers to, come alive in her one to one sessions and her group workshops thus resulting in individuals feeling more freer and fulfilled after they stop working with her. Taniya just does not provide clarity she WAKES you up to. Taniya has a great skill in being able to see the blind spots in others and does this in a non judgemental way and a way that you feel safe. She also "untangles energetic knots" (a term she uses for Shadow) in your body to promote healing from mental and physical disease. Clients usually are healed in a short amount of time because she pinpoints the memory, the event, the thought that first caused the disease. She also provides one to one sessios or training workshops to social work teams, school, secure and prison estate on youth justice, knife crime prevention as well asidentification and prevention of early onset of burnout. Taniya has three sons, who were born in 1996, 2001 and 200 and lives in Surrey, England and when she is not coaching or writing songs, blogs and poems, she loves to spend time, travelling, walking, listening to music, watching films or playing cricket. She speaks fluent English and Urdu and basic German and French and is learning Arabic and Hebrew.
