What they DON’T tell you about digital detoxification?

1. How hard it is because smartphones are mini computers, most of our lives are on there, from text reminders regarding health appointments to emails regarding health appointments and health is wealth right, even if you don’t run an online business. So it is hard to be successful in this challenge/s

2. How hard it is because some of us maintain our social personal relationships on our phones, not all but if we have family that live in another city or another country or even in another continent, we stay in touch via social media, family WhatsApp groups or even privately. So when we join the challenge we have failed in the first few days. The online coach or author doesn’t understand what they are talking about. They live in a world which is not yours.

3. How hard it is because our entertainment is on the same device, our music, our TV Movies, photos so Abstaining from Digital devices, the  A in my M.A.G.I.C.A.L method has become more nuanced. Those who have been following me for a while can say yes?Abstaining from all digital devices I understand cannot be done for 12 hours or so even for a few hours, especially if you are a carer and have a family member or partner or friend dependant on you. Many of you have been following me yes?Especially if you are an online business owner or a pastor, imam, rabbi and your congregation is looking to find out when you are next available privately or publicly. And whilst it can be done when you are on holiday visiting another country and don’t have wi fi or are worried about your mobile data, you don’t like being offline for very long. Yes that is me too..I was hardly on Facebook whilst I was on New Zealand but I run a business and still was checking what was happening in my Facebook groups..I am a leader not just a business owner. For a few Facebook groups are where individuals vent.


Yet

The M.A.G.I.C.A.L method is what I have used since 2003 yes way before my business that has prevented me having a nervous breakdown.

It is what has led me to be there for my family whilst going through challenges of having a child with special educational needs. He is now an adult now but the method which was born before smart phones and Facebook and Instagram, has prevented me from having a nervous breakdown. Those with a child with special needs understand the extreme pressures.

And the M.A.G.I.C.A.L method is what I have used for the past seven years ever since I started my online business.. I founded  the online business in January 2018 when I registered with HMRC after my first online client was referred to me, even though I had not done any marketing, had no website, no online presence. It has kept me sane, grounded and able to start, maintain and build my online business whilst being a social worker four days a week and being a wife and mother of three sons who were 10, 16 and 21 at the time when I founded it.

I started the business because I wanted to teach this method to others.


I started the business because I was hopeful this method would bring freedom and flow and FULFILLMENT to the lives of others who are feeling caged,  stuck and unfulfilled in their lives.

Like I was before I embarked on The Reflective Space Adventure in AUGUST 2017.

I was a very different person before I embarked on this adventure.

I was a very different person before I started my business.

I felt caged

I felt stuck

I felt unfulfilled

It was due to starting my business in my first year that I was able to NAME why I felt so caged, so stuck and so unfulfilled in my life despite being very successful to others.

Inside I didn’t feel successful at all.



Yes I was and still am married
Yes I was and still the mother of three kids
Yes I was and still am financially comfortable
Yes I was and still am a senior social worker
Yes I was and still am blessed with good and supportive friends and family

Yet something was missing

A mission

My soul was seeking something

It was burnt out by doing, doing, doing.

I wanted to BE.

I didn’t know what and WHO

I just wanted to BE.

And August 2017 I started BEING present to myself, my feelings and thoughts.

My REAL feelings and thoughts about everything and everyone.

It was August 2018 a year later at a business event in Phoenix Arizona that I was able to name what my mission was.

What was missing in my life.

The mission was and is and remains.

To beat burnout.

To raise awareness of burnout

To prevent burnout

To serve others experiencing early onset or if they are often prone to it.

Burnout so many feel ashamed of admitting

I get that

I did too

Yet if you don’t know the signs and symptoms and how to recognise early onset, this can be dangerous to your health, your sanity, to your marriage, to your family, to your career or if you have one to your business/es. I know many who don’t have one but several businesses

Those who are prone to burnout are high achievers and high performers, highly successful individuals like you and me who, push forward, when others would stop.

Success is built on hard work.

FULFILLMENT is built on JOY and achieving MORE by doing less.

So that is why from September 2018 I started preparing an online summit called #beatburnoutsummit

I sought out 22 Authors, Entrepreneurs,, Coaches, Experts some who have experienced burnout and some who are expert on it.

I interviewed them between September 2018 to December 2018 and launched and hosted this online summit via email marketing.

The video interviews are accessible for FREE and still relevant 7 years later.

This is because burnout is on the rise amongst Creatives, Entrepreneurs, Professionals in fact anyone who is into #heartcentredleadership

I prepared and launched and hosted and marketed that online summit whilst working as a social worker four days a week and during an inspection at work.

I sometimes think HOW I did it but I didn’t have a nervous breakdown or physical breakdown because of the M.A.G.I.C.A.L method.

What is that?

Well

M stands for Meditation,
A stands for Abstaining from Digital devices
G stands for Gratitude
I stands for Inspiration and Intuition
C stands for Consultation
A stands for Aligned Action
L stands for LIVING a life of Flow, FREEDOM and FULFILLMENT

Like you I am not perfect.
I need systems to keep me going when the going gets tough.
When the pressures get too much.
When it FEELS everyone wants a piece of you and you just want to go and sleep

When I don’t meditate, this means simply sitting in silence for a few minutes, I feel so anxious for the rest of the daym Meditation doesn’t have to be complicated. We really make it complicated.

When I don’t abstain from Facebook  on Saturdays for a few hours 3 to 12 usually, sometimes I feel resentful and start becoming angsty with loved ones, they always get the brunt don’t they?

When I don’t take time to feel grateful, be grateful, I am thinking of what I don’t have (when God has blessed me with so much. There’s only so much we need. We can live very simply if we consciously did),  I start buying things I don’t need.

When I don’t take time to fast and detox my gut or don’t detox from social media, or don’t listen to music or don’t  dance or watch films or crappy TV where I don’t have to think, I find I feel uninspired and am not tuned to my intuition. I get more content ideas for my business and being away from the screen then being on it. I am a clareaudient and clarevoyant and so being distant from those abilities means my connection gets disrupted. Everything takes me longer.

When I don’t consult with others, my entrepreneur friends, my therapist, copy writers I hire, my accountant, financial advisors, good friends of decades, family members I trust and God, I make very BAD decisions. When you are running a mission based business  you cannot do it alone. There is always a team around you even if you are a Solopreneur like me paid and unpaid. When I don’t consult, it leaves me victim of shiny silver object syndrome you know what that is yes? If you don’t message me privately.

When I don’t take aligned action from the consultations I have had, I make stupid investments that cost me time. Did you know, more than money, I value my time so much because money I am good at making. God I can boast I have made money running a side business with a very stressful job and personal stresses which I don’t share because I am a very private person. You don’t care about them. You care how I can get you from A to B FAST. And time you cannot get back we are human beings who are mortal and I am here to serve a few, those who God makes it easy for me to serve who DESIRE Flow FAST
Oh how, I HATE it folks wasting my time.

And that’s why seven years later I can boast The MAGICAL method has helped me in my business and for over 2 decades it has helped me with my caring responsibilities, my creativity (writing), my  work with my client, with my marriage and my friendships and family challenges.

But you don’t care how it has helped me.
