It is not easy exploring the relationship you have with yourself.
It is not really something you are taught at school.
The Three E’s that I teach high performers and high achievers and visionary entrepreneurs and high performing LEADERS really embraces this exploration.
We are used to exploring relationships with others but not with ourselves or with God.
Having a safe and non judgemental space to do this is vital.
In my work with high performers, I really strive to create a safe container and these words from Asma* really highlight that I am able to successfully.
Asma* actually has given this Testimonial publicly on Facebook but I prefer to use her fictional name as I run a private and confidential service.
These are her words hence they are in quotes.
‘Every one of us is on a journey in this life. Like many others, a few months ago; I was feeling lost. I had made so much improvements; yet I had no idea where I was going. It was like a bit of floating aimlessly. All this effort, but no concrete progress. I was not truly in touch with my purpose. And there were still so many things I was consciously avoiding.
A little bit like “lying to myself”.
It was as if there was a culmination of all that I was burdened and overwhelmed with. I had already taken steps to improve my burnout and addressed some key aspects of myself that required healing. However, there was still somethings that were not clear on how to sustain a living where I would be protected from falling back into that dark place. A place where I was constantly getting tired of clawing out of; and it was like a quick sand; I was still stuck. I did not feel any flow (yet).
That feeling of being “stuck” is mainly because we have yet to learn, yet to unlock and unleash. Life works in mysterious ways. We are often presented with patterns; until we learn how to elevate and bump ourselves up to the next level. Where again, we will be presented with some patterns, puzzles, tests that we have to solve.
Alchemy is a loaded word. What is it anyway? It almost sounds like something magical and old worldly that has no place in our modern, technology enabled lives today. But as Muslims, I was drawn immediately to what Taniya offered as Muslim Alchemy. This was the safest place for me to explore because it was clearly bounded by the spiritual practices of Islam. I had been looking to focus on nurturing my spiritual connection to Allah; and I wanted to learn so much. I had started to question some of the ritual practices that were mostly done for “show” where as the heart of the practice was now missing.
There are so many dark, traumatic, spiritual abuse that we face and witness in our circles, without even knowing; that I did not know what to expect coming to this Muslim Alchemy practice. All I knew was I had rapport with Taniya Hussain, as I had also worked with her on overcoming burnout. And I liked her approach to uncovering gaps and blind spots for me. I trusted her.
The start to Muslim Alchemy first opened my eyes to Shadow archetypes. Even knowing about the shadows is mind blowing! One has to have an open mindset to explore these age-old truths; that we see played out within ourselves and in others around us.
I could start to call out whenever I saw myself slipping into any one shadow or when it was triggered by being around certain people. The real meat of the learning from Taniya was what to do; the default “weapons” to resort to if I felt I was acting on shadow; and how to ultimately built myself up to slash those shadows using the same practices we use as rituals mostly.
These types of eye and mind opening connections really boosted my understanding of spirituality and what it means for us to be human. We have our own demons. And we have reliance on our role models, the Prophets, the stories in the Quran, and our Islamic history to learn from as we learn to implement transformation in our daily lives. There is a rich wealth of treasures; that have not been uncovered yet by mainstream. Taniya is bringing some of these hidden truths to light. And she is fearless at it!
There is SO MUCH synergies with what Muslim Alchemist Taniya Hussain teaches with what we are facing in our world today: The ability to TRANSFORM and make it sustainable. If you’re feeling stuck with where you are; if you feel you have made progress but no concrete successes; if you still truly are seeking happiness; are not content in your life, and if you truly do not see your own part and role in the play of your life; then you need to explore Taniya’s Muslim Alchemy way.
The benefits have been numerous; but the most tangible benefit of working on myself with help of Muslim Alchemist has been the HEALTH benefits. My body has started to shut down (I had a complete bowel obstruction for which I got hospitalized twice). It was as if I was holding on to so much in my gut that my body just gave up on processing it. I was living the life of most people with auto immune disease that is unexplainable; and the inflammation just gets out of control despite the best and latest medicine treatments including chemotherapy. Mental wellness and Muslim Alchemy has helped me harness and control my health in ways that I cannot explain. I was able to heal from surgery; faster than expected; I am still on medication however I am able to process a normal diet (whereas previously I was not even able to tolerate liquids). There have been other benefits in improving the quality of life, the fatigue, the overwhelm, the joy, the energy… in addition to health.
There’s a lot out there in the world about Alchemy in general that without proper support and guidance can actually get towards the brink of insanity; so I would recommend Taniya because I trust her to use this practice in a safe and secure container. Don’t just follow anyone who claims to be an Alchemist. Work with someone like Taniya Hussain who has years of experience and has paved her own unique journey to become The Muslim Achemist and the authority on this subject.’
The picture is of my personal favorite singer, late Allan Fakir; the Sindhi Sufi. This is the kind of captivating, liberating, joyous and freeing energy that Alchemy can bring to your life. Someone looking like a fool, may actually be the wisest of them all and a close friend of Allah.’
